BACKGROUND

Loved Up Films specialise in bright, energetic, and colourful wedding films that aim to bring a relaxed, fun, and vibrant burst of energy to a couples wedding day. Having worked with Robin before who is the mastermind behind the brand, along with his partner Mickey, I knew this redesign needed to bring their personalities and film style in maximum capacity, and really give the brand a powerful design that lived up to their energetic and dynamic videos.

During their brand strategy phase we established that Loved Up value being real to show an authentic personality, they value vibrancy that is more than just a visual aid but an energy that is carried throughout everything they do, and they value soul, as a core theme that their creative work will always show. The music, editing style, visuals, and design are all created to project feeling, emotion, and a final output that will be loved and cherished by their clients for many years to come.

Solution


The primary logo focuses on strong typographic styling to illustrate the confident nature of the brand, with the colour palette containing a mix of colours which are used to bring the energy and can be used in multiple colour ways to give maximum variety. The submarks have been designed to reflect the geometric, collage style editing seen throughout their films, with the 'L' from the Loved up logo making up the circle representing a cassette wheel to show the brands love of 80's & 90's hip hop music which can also be used as loading icons and idents.

We worked through printed flyers and welcome guides to excite couples whilst planning their wedding and always made sure to bring the fun into every element of the design. With their mission statement being 'We won't take ourselves too seriously, and we won't ask you to either' is there any better film duo then Robin & Mickey to film your wedding day?! Nope.

What makes Loved Up Films so unique is their mission to bring soul into all of their work. This design shows a hand lettered logo to represent the craft and personal touch to all of their work, and to represent that human connection. The style is bold and colourful to relate directly back to the bands aesthetic, whilst also bringing a unique and individual take to what a Wedding brand can be, to shake up the industry and to attract those dream clients.

VHS
80’s & 90’s TV/Film was a strong reference mentioned throughout the questionnaire and this design plays on this idea of a nostaligic VHS Tape logo. The style of the design can easily be seen as an ident featured at the start of Loved Up Films videos to mimic the reference of a VHS, as well as showing a bold and modern style to bring it up to today’s current market.
